A little about me

While in New York last year, my husband and I decided to escape the summer heat and headed to Coney Island. On the train ride there, we passed one of the largest cemeteries I’ve ever seen. It made me pause and reflect – so many people, so many lives, impressions and stories; and the importance of a deeply meaningful and personal funeral or celebration of life ceremony to match each unique human - a proper goodbye...

I’ve often avoided thinking about death in the past. My dad died suddenly when I was 10, and I didn’t attend his funeral. At the time, I shut down – the grief felt too painful to face; but it didn’t stay hidden for long. Over the years, I’ve had to unpack and heal the loss over time. If only I knew then what I know now...

I understand how important it is to acknowledge loss, to grieve, and to say goodbye in whatever way feels right for your loved one, and those left behind too.

What I offer

You don't have to follow funeral tradition. There are so many creative, beautiful and alternative ways to honour a life; from celebrations of life, ashes internments and informal memorials - in locations that are not necessarily a crematorium or burial ground such as locations and venues that were meaningful to the person who has passed, natural burial grounds and woodland burial sites.
